Temple University

Melinda Schiano di Cola manages faculty-led summer programs and external programs for Temple’s Education Abroad office, in addition to serving as the university’s VIH coordinator. Her love of Italian culture and language started at a young age, as she spent most of her summers visiting family in southern Italy, which ultimately led to her decision to study abroad at Temple’s campus in Rome. Following her transformative study abroad experience in Rome, she returned to the United States wanting to share her experience with others. After graduating from Temple, Melinda was selected to return to Temple Rome for a semester as a Student Life Assistant, where she assisted Temple Rome staff and students and furthered her interest in international education, which ultimately led to her current role as program manager.

Melinda holds a B.A. in Political Science and Italian from Temple. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to meet with Melinda prior to applying. Students may also e-mail Melinda with any questions about the VIH Program.
